NEWMARKET COMMUNITY MOVIENIGHT

TCMA was proud to partner with City of Newmarket and Ward 7 City Councillor Christina Bisanz to co-host a community movie night featuring Moana 2, generously funded by TD Bank.

The evening offered free face painting, bubbles, and toys, creating a joyful and welcoming atmosphere for children and families. More than 2,000 residents came out to enjoy the movie night together — a wonderful example of how partnerships can bring communities together, strengthen connections, and create meaningful shared experiences.

Grateful to our partners, volunteers, and community members for making this celebration such a success. Together, we continue building a vibrant and inclusive Newmarket.

LITTLE FACES, BIG SMILES

The face painting station was pure magic. Children lined up with buzzing excitement, each one arriving with a vision — butterflies, tigers, rainbows, superheroes — and leaving with a masterpiece painted across their cheeks. Parents captured every reveal while kids sprinted off to show their siblings and new friends. More than just an activity, it became a natural gathering spot where families connected, neighbours chatted, and children bonded over matching designs. In those small, colourful moments, the heart of community truly showed.

THE HANDS BEHIND THE MAGIC

None of this would have been possible without our amazing volunteers and dedicated project manager, whose hard work and heart made the entire evening run seamlessly. From setting up to welcoming every family through the door, their passion for the Newmarket community shone through in every moment.
A sincere thank you to each and every one of you — your time and energy are what turn a simple event into a true community celebration. We are endlessly grateful.

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

Long before the movie began, the energy was already electric. Children darted between activities, toddlers chased bubbles through the evening air, and neighbours who had never met found themselves laughing side by side. Families claimed their spots, friends reunited, and the whole venue buzzed with the kind of warmth that only a true community gathering can bring. It was a simple reminder that sometimes, all it takes is a shared evening under the open sky to bring people closer together.
